Here’s a simple activity to help your kids stay engaged during general conference. Print out pictures of the First Presidency and members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Tape them to your TV stand, on the wall near the TV, or anywhere else your kids can easily see them while you watch conference. With each new speaker, have your children find the prophet or apostle who is speaking. (If someone else is speaking, this is a good time to identify them as a member of the Seventy or a member of the General Relief Society Presidency, YW Presidency, or Primary Presidency.) If the prophet or an apostle is speaking, move his picture to another wall or designated area. Not only will your children identify the speakers, but they will also be able to keep track of who spoke at conference. Some apostles speak during the priesthood session but not during the other session. If this is the case, have someone who watched that session help you identify who spoke.

My family did this activity last conference, and my children have requested to do it again this weekend. It was simple enough that even my then two-year-old was able to participate.

I have created a PDF with pictures of the First Presidency and members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. I’m having trouble uploading the file, so if you would like a copy, please email me at kimikomae@yahoo.com and I’ll be happy to send the file to you.
